What I did during syllabus week: pinterest edition

Image
Hello all! So normally I promise I pay attention in class, but syllabus week is when my brain really just leaves the building and I multitask by searching things online and organizing my planner.  --If you're in the market for a planner, I highly recommend an Erin Condren  one! I have been using these since the beginning of high school and they are wonderful! (a little pricey I'll admit but they come with stickers, are very durable, give you plenty of room to write, and are customizable!)  So my parents are in the process of redoing our kitchen and this has me in the "what do I want my future house/apartment to look like" mindset. Obviously, this lead me to the wonderful world of Pinterest. Without further ado, here are my "for the home" finds from the past week: Love the details on the cabinets. (this would be more of a beach house or a sun room I guess...TBH it's a bit much for ...

New Beginnings

For at least the past four years of my life I have told myself that "this is the year I'm going to start blogging". Well, that year has finally come.  As a senior(-ish) in college (will follow up in a post later on about that) it is finally time for me to put on my big girl panties and actually follow through with my plans. It's a new year, and although I'm not a "new me" I am definitely an improved one...or aspiring to be.. semantics, really.  To warn you all: it's going to be a rough start, and it will most definitely continue to have this style/ "feel" of writing. Hopefully I will post semi-regularly :)    This blog will be about my life-what I like, what I'm doing, what I'm wearing..eating...watching...etc.  Thanks for reading!

Snow Days

After the long MLK weekend, Chapel Hill received a lot of snow early Tuesday morning. Lucky for us students, that meant we ended up having school only 1.5 days that week! Wednesday and Thursday classes were cancelled, and half of Friday classes were cancelled as well. This is one instance where North Carolina did not freak out and over exaggerate the snow (at least for Chapel Hill). We had at least 7 inches on the ground here, and were effectively stranded with the icy roads.  This was the first time I was on campus during a snow break. Normally I would have driven home to Raleigh, but since the snow came over night and no one knew just how bad it would be, I remained in CH. Honestly, it was a lot of fun to venture onto campus in the snow. There were many people building snowmen, some of which were giants that required over five guys to roll the base.  My friends and I walked through the upper and lower quad, and finished off our walk at Kennan Stadium. There was a gr...

Christmas Break

It's always sad to see the Christmas season come to an end. This year it seemed as though it flew right by, and I didn't have time to fully appreciate it. Normally I stay at home all break and hang out with my family, but this year my parents and I took a trip to New York after my finals. It was my first time experiencing NY around Christmas, and it really is magical to be there. I won't lie, it was very cold there...I would've liked it to be a tad warmer...Say, maybe above freezing... But anywho, it ended up being worth it, because while we were there it also SNOWED! It was so beautiful to see it coming down in times square, and walking through a white Central Park really gives you the holiday spirit.    We went to LIVE with Kelly and Ryan , which was interesting to see. Everything is so different when you have the perspective of sitting in the audience rather than watching at home. In my head the set always seemed much larger, but in actuality it is a bit smal...
